OPEN on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day

Wayward Coffeehouse will be OPEN on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We love being able to spend the holidays with our wonderful Wayward community and also recognize that our fabulously diverse community celebrates different holidays throughout this magical time of year. We know that all of you have different traditions and different circumstances and we are proud of being able to provide a welcoming space for our community every day of the year. Please join us for good cheer, great company, and delicious coffee.

No matter what holiday you celebrate, whether it is the Winter Solstice, Hanukka, Kwanzai, Christmas, or the opening of the ski slopes, we hope you spend it with loved ones for a season of love, happiness, compassion, and gratitude. We look forward to seeing many of you on all these winter holidays!

We will be OPEN on Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 24, 7am – 9pm. We love sharing the holidays with our wonderful Wayward community and know that even on a holiday you still need delicious coffee! Be sure to stop by and enjoy a tasty pre-festivities coffee or relax in the evening after a full day of happy holiday mayhem. Annual Halloween Horror Reading with Michael Montoure

All Hallow’s Eve is just around the corner and once again we welcome local author Michael Montoure to Wayward Coffeehouse for a reading of chilling tales to usher in Samhain. Join us on Sat, Oct 29, 8-10 pm, and enjoy dark thrillers read by the author. FREE!

NOTE: This reading is not suitable for young children. Our events are typically family-friendly, but this annual horror reading is an exception.


Sereniversary Shindig 2016! Sat, Sept 24, 6-11pm with Vixy & Tony+Sunny+Betsy

Its that time of year again when we host our annual SERENIVERSARY shindig celebrating the anniversary of the theatrical release of our favorite scifi film Serenity as well as the anniversary of Wayward Coffeehouse. This year marks 11 years of serving delicious coffee and providing a welcoming environment to our awesome Wayward community.

Join us on Sat, Sept 24, 6-11pm and help us celebrate! There will be live music from our dear friends and fabulous filk performers Vixy & Tony + Sunny + Betsy. Firefly-themed and geeky costumes are encouraged! There may be a trivia quiz or other special happenings as well!


The Doubleclicks perform at Wayward Coffeehouse on Fri 7/29

We are so excited that The Doubleclicks are coming back to perform at Wayward Coffeehouse on Fri, 7/29, 7-10 pm. This is an all-ages show and there is no cover, though we hope you’ll support the musicians with a donation (we suggest $10).They will also have CDs and other merch available so you can show that you support the geeky music duo after they head back on the road.

Its been a few years since they played at Wayward because they’ve been busy on tour across the U.S., making albums, running awesome Kickstarter campaigns, being geeky, and writing songs!  Its going to be an fantastic evening of geekery and music!

Presentation and Book Signing with Alan Kistler

We’re delighted to welcome back to Wayward Coffeehouse author and speaker Alan Kistler on Sat, June 4, 2016 for a presentation on “Time Lords, Prime Directives, and Superheroes: A Chat About Morality, Power and Accountability in Pop Culture”.

Pop Culture historian Alan Kistler, author of the New York Times Best Seller “Doctor Who: A History” and contributor to books such as “Star Trek Psychology” and “Captain America VS Iron Man,” discusses how superhero comics, Doctor Who, recent movies, and other stories handle the idea of people using great power to battle evil and how much responsibility they do or don’t take for the consequences.
